PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is in the process of procuring and implementing electric buses within its fleet. The buses are a push toward MATA’s overall transit vision allowing for cost savings, reduced emissions, and, most importantly, providing increased transit solutions for the Memphis community. Funding sources include the Federal Transit Administration Low or No Emission Grant, Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation Grants Program, Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Funding, and the Volkswagen Settlement Grant, administered through the Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation, totaling a value of over 68 million dollars.
OUR ROLE
2021-Present
Allworld’s role includes program oversight, grant compliance, and exploring the requirements for implementing the electrified bus fleet within the existing system. Additionally, Allworld is developing a bus vendor demonstration program to procure 43 battery electric buses. Allworld also coordinates and implements infrastructure at MATA’s operation center and along routes. Allworld is supported by CDM Smith and Virginkar and Associates.
